Earlier this year we have opened a call for applications for a scholarship intended to counter gender disparity in STEM. We are happy to announce our winner!
The scholarship covers full one-year tuition at the Le Sallay Academy. It is intended for a female student of 10-14 y.o. residing in the USA with a demonstrated interest in STEM and willingness to learn at the Le Sallay Academy.
We had many qualified applicants and it was not an easy choice. Our interviewers strongly recommended at least three candidates, but we could only choose one.
We are happy to welcome Ilga Katz from Boston, MA to our program. Our math experts Yan Raukh and Roman Tsvetnikov were impressed by Ilga's focus, sharp mind, and energy. Roman noted that Ilga was the only one who declined prompts and assistance when solving difficult math problems. We are looking forward to meeting Ilga in person at our on-site sessions.
We are also negotiating the scholarships to cover part of the tuition for several other candidates and we hope that they will be able to join us next year.
